and time for another Dream Scheme visit with the Dreamweaver Stencils Dream Team.
But first of all, my apologies for not posting last week. As it happened, life caught up with me – doctor, vet, scheduled appointments, you know how it goes – and crafting time got the short straw in the draw. But I'm slowly catching up and since this week is designer's choice, I'm showing a card that will soon be in the mail to someone, but I won't say who in case they're reading this. You'll just have to wait to find out!
You just can't say enough "thank yous" when someone steps up to help you out and I'd rather send a hand-written note than click the send button. So I've created a card that is quick and easy and falls into my "variations on a theme" category. Begin by dry embossing Mosaic Swirls (LJ901) and the Thank You (LL303) on Core'dinations card stock. With fine grit sand paper, sand the raised parts to expose the paper's coordinated color core. Cut the swirl background to size, and tear the edges of the thank you. Add brads before assembling on a mat and card base. Couldn't be easier. You can make the same card using different embellishments; paste emboss colored card stock with translucent embossing paste, or dry emboss the background and using the double glitter technique or a colored embossing paste on the thank you . . . the possibilities are endless.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check my team mates' blogs to see what they have created for you. It's St. Patrick's Day, so I'm sure there will be some green!
Happy Crafting,
Liz
Very pretty, I agree that a hand written note beats an email any day!
ReplyDeleteVERY PRETTY!! Were you inspired by Pam's mosaic last week? Man , I was. Your card is fabulous and I am glad life is somewhat back to normal again for you. The short time we had in LA at CHA was not long enough. I hope we get to visit in person again soon. Happy St. Paddy's Day!!
ReplyDeleteLiz..I can certainly agree that sometimes life just happens. Since I just got my cast off I have had a millon things to get done. I love your card and I just might have to steal your idea cuz I have a lot of thank yous to write. Happy St. Patrick's day.
ReplyDeleteLove the color of that mosaic swirl background (one of my favorite stencils). You're so right. So much nicer to send a handmade card then to push the send button.
ReplyDeleteI love the color of that background Liz...I too think we need to send more of our creations via Snail Mail. It is so wonderful to receive these in the mail.
ReplyDeleteAgreed about the written Thank Yous--very nice idea. I always love that mosaic stencil!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with this card. Grey is not used enough in my opinion. It pops off the blue coordinations. Quick and easy, yet very dramatic. Thank you!! for the great idea.
ReplyDeleteI like it! wonderful color combination with a simple message that conveys more than just a "Thank You"
